In 1993, my agency invited me to become an administrative RN, managing and directing hundreds of RNs, LVNs, and CNAs for this per Diem staffing agency, which ultimately led to my creation and ownership of AllStar Staffing, in 1997 and through till 2013.
What a wonderful business and extended nursing family, my husband I created.
In 2013, our company was sold. I, along with all my AllStar Staffing employees and our 2 office locations, was immersed in a multifaceted staffing company. I was under a 3-year contract to direct the nursing division, working with staff, whom I’d worked with for the last 2 to almost 20 years!
In late 2016, I transferred to a very busy and productive national travel corporation. As a Clinical Nurse Manager in their Clinical Organization Department. I received inter and external department awards and kudos from nurses I coached and counselled, as well as clients I facilitated. I was working with RN colleagues in all areas of nursing, with a wealth of expertise and I loved it!
This brings me to the present, Spring of 2018, where I am taking on the role of Healthcare Consultant, for Gold Medical Jobs. It’s an exciting opportunity, providing me with the fortuitous chance to work which my tireless and determined husband, whom, I should add, is one of my biggest advocates.
Would also like to share with those considering becoming an RN, that you’ll confirm early on if it is right for you. You may settle into Labor and Delivery, Emergency Nursing, Oncology Clinics or try Travel assignments. You’ll work hard and never be bored. If it is your career choice, know it’s rewards are many.
I am a nurse, in the company of a sisterhood and brotherhood of extraordinary nurses. I will always be a nurse and it has been a source of continuous learning, teaching and a source of nearly limitless satisfaction.
